CEGAH COVID-19 DENGAN MEMBAGIKAN MASKER DAN PENYULUHAN KE MASYARAKAT KOTA BATAM

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people's health and social activities, especially in urban areas with high mobility such as Batam City. The low awareness of some people about health protocols and limited access to personal protective equipment are challenges in efforts to prevent the spread of the virus. This community service activity aims to increase awareness and healthy living behavior through the distribution of masks and counseling on COVID-19 prevention. The implementation method is carried out through an educational and participatory approach, including socialization of health protocols, demonstrations of the correct use of masks, and distribution of masks to the public in public areas. The results of the activity show that there is an increase in public understanding of the importance of using masks and implementing health protocols in daily life. The enthusiasm of the community during the activity showed that direct education and the provision of prevention facilities were effective strategies in supporting the control of the spread of COVID-19. This activity is expected to contribute to building the collective awareness of the people of Batam City to maintain their health and the environment.

The creative economy is a concept in the new economic era that intensifies information and creativity by relying on ideas and knowledge from human resources as the main production factors. This concept is usually supported by the existence of the creative industry which is its embodiment. Over time, economic development has reached the level of the previous creative economy, the world is faced with the concept of an information economy where information becomes the main thing in economic development. Considering the great benefits of the creative economy industry for economic growth, it is good to introduce the creative economy industry to the younger generation from an early age. Objective: To carry out community service coaching for school targets on the creative industry with the participants being vocational high school students in Batam. This community service is carried out by introducing the creative economy industry, its benefits and prospects for economic growth. Method: This community service is carried out using lecture and discussion methods. Results: By carrying out creative economy coaching, students can have an interest in contributing to the creative economy. Conclusion: During the community service activities, the participants were very enthusiastic about the material and discussions provided.

TANAM 1000 POHON MAHONI WADUK DURIANGKANG KOTA BATAM

BP Batam, together with the Banjarnahor Family of Batam City, planted 1000 mahogany trees located in the Water Catchment Area of the Duriangkang Reservoir, Batam City. The development of Batam City as an industrial area must be balanced with sustainable greening to maintain water discharge for the needs of the Batam City community. Batam City's water catchment consists of seven reservoirs that serve as raw water sources for the city, namely: Sei Ladi Reservoir, Sei Harapan Reservoir, Muka Kuning Reservoir, Tembesi Reservoir, Mongak Reservoir, Nongsa Reservoir, and Duriangkang Reservoir. Seeing the increasingly high population growth of Batam City, BP Batam and the Banjarnahor Family jointly carried out a collaborative action to plant 1000 Mahogany trees in the DTA (Water Catchment Area) of the Duriangkang Reservoir. This collaborative tree-planting action by BP Batam and the Banjarnahor Family was also supported by the Sei Jang Duriangkang River Flow Management Center and involved 100 volunteers from the Banjarnahor Family along with BP Batam employees.

Basic Python programming training at Batam Adventist Vocational School aims to improve students' digital literacy to prepare them for the information technology era. This activity was motivated by students' low understanding of programming and the need for digital skills in the workplace. The implementation method was carried out through face-to-face workshops, hands-on practice, and simple project-based evaluations. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of basic Python concepts, logical skills, and motivation to learn programming further. This training is expected to be the first step in building a technology-literate generation ready to face the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Current community service activities aim to provide additional insight based on business assistance regarding strategies for obtaining opportunities in the business sector, which include: challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurship, assessing opportunities, opening a business and competitive advantages for entrepreneurs, as well as strategies for capturing business opportunities, the main causes and several shortcomings of business failure. The participant in this service activity was Mrs. PKK Gagaksipat Village, Ngemplak Boyolali. The evaluation results show that the activities‹ carried out by the Abdimas Team of lecturers and students were successful, because the participants who attended were very enthusiastic about participating in each material presentation session. By taking part in this training, mothers can not only fulfill their household needs independently with environmentally friendly dishwashing soap, but also have the potential to develop a small business from this product. It is hoped that this activity can improve skills, empower housewives, and open up additional sources of income thereby strengthening the economy of families and communities in the village.

PELATIHAN MANAJEMEN USAHA BAGI PELAKU USAHA MIKRO KOTA BATAM

Batam City as a free trade area has great economic potential for micro business actors, but limited managerial capabilities are often the main obstacle in business development. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to increase business governance capacity for micro business actors in Batam City through systematic and applicable management training. The main problems identified include the lack of separation of personal and business finances, inefficient operational management, and suboptimal digital marketing strategies. The method of implementing activities is carried out through the preparation stage in the form of needs analysis, the implementation stage through interactive workshops and digital bookkeeping simulations, and the evaluation stage using pre-test and post-test instruments. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in managerial understanding of participants, which was marked by an average increase in evaluation scores of 50%. Participants are now able to prepare simple financial statements independently and implement production efficiency strategies. The conclusion of this activity is that increasing managerial literacy through a practical approach has proven to be effective in strengthening the business foundations of micro business actors, so that they have better competitiveness and higher business sustainability potential in a competitive market environment.
